Islamabad, April 21<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Pakistan on Tuesday conferred its top civilian award ‘Nishan-e-Pakistan’ on Chinese President Xi Jinping for his outstanding contribution in promotion of relationship between the two countries. President Mamnoon Hussain conferred the award on 61-year-old Xi.<\/p>\n Chinese President Xi Jinping today lauded Pakistan for its anti-terror campaign, especially for its support in the crackdown on separatists in the restive Muslim-dominated Xinjiang province, at a time when India is pressing Islamabad to contain cross-border terrorism. Xi, on a two-day historic state visit to \u201call-weather\u201d ally Pakistan, addressed a joint session of Pakistan\u2019s parliament which is the first for any Chinese president. Both China and Pakistan \u201cshare a common stake in security\u201d, Xi told Parliament in a speech that was aired live nationally as he linked economic cooperation with security. \u201cOver the years Pakistan has overcome all kinds of difficulties and contributed greatly to the security and stability of China\u2019s western border areas and this is something that we shall never forget,\u201d Xi said.
