{"id":3486,"date":"2017-03-07T19:43:36","date_gmt":"2017-03-07T19:43:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.iuhrdf.org\/en\/2017\/03\/07\/communist-party-boss-chinas-muslim-region-points-trump-ban-battle-vs-religious-extremism\/"},"modified":"2017-03-07T19:43:36","modified_gmt":"2017-03-07T19:43:36","slug":"communist-party-boss-chinas-muslim-region-points-trump-ban-battle-vs-religious-extremism","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iuhrdf.org\/en\/communist-party-boss-chinas-muslim-region-points-trump-ban-battle-vs-religious-extremism\/","title":{"rendered":"Communist Party boss of China\u2019s Muslim region points to Trump ban in battle vs religious extremism"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Communist Party boss of one of China\u2019s major Muslim regions has cited US President Donald Trump\u2019s immigration policies in stressing the need to combat religious extremism.<\/p>\n<p>Zhuang Pinghui<br \/>Liu Zhen<br \/>PUBLISHED : Tuesday, 07 March, 2017, 11:56pm<br \/>UPDATED : Wednesday, 08 March, 2017, 12:48am<\/p>\n<p>The Communist Party boss of one of China\u2019s major Muslim regions has cited US President Donald Trump\u2019s immigration policies in stressing the need to combat religious extremism.<\/p>\n<p>Li Jianhua, the party secretary of Ningxia, said on Tuesday that some radicals had turned religious belief, such as Islam, into extremists ideology, causing instability in the world.<\/p>\n<p>Last month, a video purportedly issued by Islamic State showed Uygur-speaking fighters vowing to launch attacks in Xinjiang and \u201cshed blood like rivers\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe jihad, violence and terror demanded by the extremists has resulted in Trump\u2019s Muslim ban,\u201d Li told reporters on the sidelines of the National People\u2019s Congress session in Beijing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo matter what the purpose of this order is, he intended to prevent extremism from infiltrating into the US mainland.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trump on Monday issued a revised travel ban blocking entry to the US of six Muslim-majority countries.
