margin-top: 15px; margin-bottom: 15px; color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-family: Roboto, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\"><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">The $50 billion CPEC, launched in 2015, is a planned network of roads, railways and energy projects linking China&#8217;s resource-rich Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region with Pakistan&#8217;s strategic Gwadar Port on the Arabian Sea.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"box-sizing: inherit; margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 15px; color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-family: Roboto, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\"><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">Mr<\/span><span style=\"font-size:14px;\"> Khan&#8217;s remarks about the CPEC projects came as he chaired a Balochistan cabinet meeting on Saturday in Quetta during his first visit to the province as the prime minister.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"box-sizing: inherit; margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 15px; color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-family: Roboto, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\"><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">Mr<\/span><span style=\"font-size:14px;\"> Khan in the past had <\/span><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">criticised<\/span><span style=\"font-size:14px;\"> former prime minister Nawaz Sharif for the lack of transparency and corruption in the CPEC projects.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"box-sizing: inherit; margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 15px; color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-family: Roboto, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\"><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">Since Khan&#8217;s <\/span><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">Pakisatan<\/span><span style=\"font-size:14px;\"> Tehreek-e-Insaf party-led government took charge, there have been several occasions where it has backtracked on statements on the CPEC.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"box-sizing: inherit; margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 15px; color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-family: Roboto, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\"><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">In September, a British financial daily had said that Pakistan was planning review deals concluded under Beijing&#8217;s Belt (BRI) and Road Initiative.
