The police check on us every day, no matter if you&#8217;re a doctor, teacher, anyone. Cameras lining the streets &#8220;capture every square inch&#8221; of the city, one resident boasts. Thousands of the region&#8217;s newest security jobs, says Zenz, are for video and Internet surveillance staff.<\/span><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">This massive investment <\/span><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">on<\/span><span style=\"font-size:14px;\"> security measures can be felt along the streets of Urumqi, a city of 4 million people.
